This is a 3-storey house situated in a new, friendly (mostly Brits!) block just up from the beach. Everything, bars, restaurants and even the local supermarket, is within a very short walk. The beach is only 10 mins on foot. There are 3 bedrooms, a double, a twin and a continental twin (pushed together) with en-suite facilities and 2 sun terraces. There is also a travel cot for babies. The main bedroom has a SAFE. There is an en-suite shower room with toilet/basin - a Bathroom with over-bath shower, toilet and 2 basins and a separate WC with basin on the ground floor. The dining table in the lounge expands to seat 8 (at a pinch!), with a highchair available. There is garden furniture for eating outside. Lovely, good size fitted kitchen with double sink. The washing machine is outside on the rear courtyard, as well as another shower (for when you come out of the pool!). There are heaters and fans in each bedroom and the lounge. Linen and towels (not beach) are provided. There is a carport and a patio area. The double room has a balcony and the top bedroom has a sun terrace front and back. The back of the building gets sun all day and the front gets shade all day. The digital TV system receives all the main British TV channels, as well as SKY 1, Sky sports 1&2, Sky movies 1, UK Gold, etc - over 30 channels. There is also a portable CD/Cassette Radio. There is a 60 Euro service charge (about £40), covering cleaning and linen, which is payable locally to an English couple who hold the keys and who live in the same development. They are very friendly and have a lot of useful local knowledge.

Town: Torre de la Horadada

Torre de la Horadada is where all the local Spaniards have their holiday homes. With great weather, a chain of unspoilt beach coves, little local bars and restaurants, it has a real family, community feel. It is also a great base for Golf as it is situated only 10/15 minutes away from several top courses. It is also less than an hour away from the famous La Manga Resort with several top grade courses. There is also a brand new Shopping Mall opened up about 5 mins drive away with a Cinema, bowling alley and many boutiques and restaurants. The village is a costal suburb of the local town, Pilar de la Horadada, situated at the southernmost end of the Costa Blanca. This means it is also close to the warm inland sea of the Mar Menor in Murcia. It is just off the Motorway and coastal road that link it to the airports and all the local golf courses. The resort has a number of beach coves and is part of the massive Orihuela Coast with some of the best beaches in Spain. Thus it combines the atmosphere of a sleepy seaside town with being directly connected to all the local sporting amenities, facilities, restaurants, nightlife etc.

During the summer there are lots of festivals and activities on the beach, watersports etc. The resort is lively and very Spanish as all the locals are using thier holiday homes. The rest of the year the weather remains fabulous and most of the bars and restaurants stay open, but the Spanish are hard at work, so you have the place to yourselves! There is plenty of shopping in Pilar de la Horadada, or the new shopping Mall 5 mins away - it also has a bowling alley. There is also an excellent municipal swimming pool in Pilar which has a retractable roof and thus is open all year round. There is a cinema in Pilar which shows films in English on weekends and we have heard that there is a multiplex in Torrevieja (about 15 mins away) that shows English films as well, though we haven't been.
Murcia Airport is only 10 mins away and Ryanair, Flybe and many other airlines go there. There are many flights to Alicante airport and that is only 45 mins away, so the choice is massive. Our house is just off both the coast road and the motorway that link the two airports, so getting here couldn't be quicker or easier. Full details will be given on booking.
