It only takes around 30 mins to get down to the sea, Torre del Mar being the nearest resort with hypermarkets and commercial centres on the outskirts of Velez Malaga, and to go to Granada will take you about an hour. There are many interesting walks within the area and mountain biking is great for those wishing to explore the tracks. For those who enjoy golf, there is the recently opened Baviera 18 hole course at Caleta de Velez (next to Torre del Mar) - which is about 30 mins drive away and has a lovely course, with club house for a refreshing drink after your game. Clubs can be hired, for those not wishing to bring their own. Horse trekking is available locally.
