This development was designed by one of Spain's leading Architects who also later designed one of Spain's most exclusive hotels - La Bobadilla, in the same style. Each house has been individually designed to create the feeling of a typical Spanish village - no two houses are the same! The communal gardens and pool area are beautifully maintained, the pool area has a separate childrens pool and a changing room with showers and toilet. La Aldea is perched on a headland, Punta de la Mona, overlooking the village of La Herradura on one side and the beautiful Marina del Este on the other. This property is on the upper level of the development, close to a lighthouse and adjacent to a designated area of natural beauty, which provides pleasant walks.

The Costa Tropical is an unspoilt part of the Spanish coast which for many years was known only to the Spanish and has been a popular holiday destination particularly for people from the city of Granada, which is approx. one hours drive away. The area offers spectacular scenery, excellent beaches, superb restaurants, world class diving, golf at several courses nearby, tennis, horse riding, cycling, windsurfing, sailing and is only 90 minutes from the ski slopes of Sierra Nevada. The village is only 1 hour from Malaga, 15 minutes from Nerja, 10 minutes from Almunecar, with its castle, winding streets, roman ruins and popular Friday market.

This property is situated in the most desirable location in La Herradura. It is perched high on the Punta de la Mona with views out to sea and as many of the houses surrounding it are lived in all year round it remains very quiet and peaceful. Because it is situated outside the village, on a hillside, a car is essential but it is also a very pleasant 15 minute walk to the shops and many excellent restaurants in the village. In the village bicycles, motor cycles, windsurfers and sailing dingys can be hired. At the Marina yachts can be chartered and diving can be arranged. Every Friday there is a market in Almunecar which draws people for miles around - locals and tourists alike and there are many stalls selling a wide range of products. During the years there are many festivals - too numerous to list.
