Casa merlot is a two bedroom cottage with a large sun terrace looking onto mt caballo 3000 mts in the sierra nevada mountains.It was refurbished with new furniture and fittings in 2002.There is a large master bedroom with veranda looking down to the local bakers.The second bedroom has tw0 twin beds.On the ground floor there is a bathroom with all the facilities you would expect including a washing machine.The kitchen built in 2002 is fully equipped.The lounge has comfortable seating for five it has english tv,cd player and many books.Cars can be parked outside the front door for short periods long term parking is near the bakery about 50 mts away.To sit on the sun terrace at breakfast time and smell bread baking on a olive wood fire at the bakery is only suppassed by sitting there in the early hours of the morning drinking a glass of wine and watching the shooting stars.

Pinos del valle is situated in the lecrin valley 25 mins south of granada.If you like the beaches we are just 20 mins from the costa tropica which is still relatively quiet.Across the valley are the imposing sierra nevada mountains where it is possible to go ski ing and snowboarding through the winter months,There are many fabulous walks in the area mt mulhacen is 3480 mts high if this is not your fancy you can walk up a river gorge, round a lake, through an orange grove,or perhaps a virgin scramble.

Casa merlot is two minutes from a bakery,five minutes from a very good tapas bar which is near a bank and chemists.There are two good shops near to our casa .In the valley itself there many good resteraunts and tapas bars we find that the nights in the valley start about 9 and go on and on its nice to go out in the car have a meal listen to some live music or sit outside in a plaza and soak up the atmosphere you can then return to the village park up the car and have a quiet drink on the terrace of a village bar. The alhambra palace (a world heritage site)is in granada.The wildlife is amazing Ive seen ibex, eagles soaring above and hawks diving off the edge of the lakes dam. Other activities besides walking and scrambling are rock climbing,painting,birdwatching,horse riding,mountain biking and any beach activity.From june 2005 there will be two mountain bikes available for use.

Ryanair fly from stansted and liverpool to granada which is 25 mins from casa merlot.jet2.com,easy jet,bmi-baby all fly into malaga which is 1hour 30 mins from casa merlot.for car hire we go on kelkoo or go to crown car hire.Monarch will soon fly to granada from gatwick.
