Almeria has the best climate in the whole of Spain, warm and dry throughout the year. It has little rain and a large number of hours of sun a year. The temperatures reach no lower than an average of 13º C in the winter and go no higher than an average of 25º C in summer. Perfect for a villa or apartment holiday!
The word Almeria is an Arabic word and it means mirror of the sea. Almeria, like many Andalusian cities kept its Arabic name after it had been recaptured by the Spanish. It is quite a small town positioned by the sea and includes the Natural Resort (Parque Natural) area of Cabo de Gata in its region .
